Indian court sentences ex-editor Tejpal to 10 years

The Goa bench of the Bombay High Court sentenced former Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal to 10 years in prison for rape, overturning his 2021 acquittal. The case centred on a 2013 allegation by a female colleague, who said Tejpal assaulted her in a hotel lift during a Tehelka magazine event in Goa. Tejpal was also fined $5,250 and given two weeks to surrender.
