ICE plans to give officers gloves that can deliver painful electric shocks
America's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) plans to spend up to $20 million on thousands of "conductive distraction and de-escalation devices" by March 2027. The gloves, called G.L.O.V.E., deliver a painful electric shock when applied to skin, helping officers gain compliance quickly. Civil rights groups are worried about ICE's use of force, but supporters say the devices can shorten confrontations.
