Olympic champion Sifan Hassan has decided not to participate in the 2026 edition of the TCS London Marathon, a choice that has saddened many fans. The Dutch athlete withdrew due to an Achilles injury, which she picked up six weeks ago during an unfortunate treadmill training incident. Hassan, the victor of the 2023 London Marathon, conveyed that this was an exceptionally challenging decision, but she must focus on her recuperation and enduring well-being.
