Halley's Comet debris fuels autumn's meteor showers
Stargazers in the UK can look forward to five celestial events this autumn, from meteor showers to a supermoon. The Orionid meteor shower is currently underway and will reach its peak around 21 October, as the Earth moves through the debris left by Halley's Comet. Another highlight is the Leonid shower, which can show 10 to 15 meteors an hour, peaking by 17 November.
