DoorDash is paying $65 a share for Instacart, a US grocery delivery app, with the acquisition anticipated to be finalised from late 2027 to early 2028. Until then the two firms stay separate, and DoorDash says the Instacart app and brand will survive. Instacart's share of US delivery spending has fallen from 26% to 18% in five years, while DoorDash's rose from 44% to 59%.
