Greenpeace activists aboard the ship Arctic Sunrise have dropped boulders weighing up to two tonnes onto the seabed off England's east coast to snag the nets of bottom trawlers. The group says the barrier closes 116 sq km of the Southern North Sea protected area, set up for harbour porpoises, where trawlers logged more than 37,200 hours last year. Celebrities including Benedict Cumberbatch signed boulders.
