Greater Manchester mayoral election polls close, results expected Friday

Thousands of people across Greater Manchester voted today, Thursday, July 30, to choose their new mayor. Seven candidates are hoping to replace Andy Burnham, who recently became Prime Minister. Counting for the supplementary vote system starts at 9am on Friday, July 31, with results likely by mid-afternoon.
