Government Jet Stopped in Manchester to Pick Up PM Burnham

A government-leased plane flying Andy Burnham to the Commonwealth summit in Antigua and Barbuda took off from Stansted, then stopped in Manchester to collect the prime minister and his wife. Downing Street said travel decisions were made on security and operational grounds and costs would be published in the usual way. The Conservatives accused him of hypocrisy, calling him "Air Miles Andy" over private flights.
