Government contracts to prioritise creating jobs over green targets

Ministers will change how companies win government contracts, now valuing job creation for young people more than environmental values. Public sector buyers will double the focus on firms helping people into work, instead of social and environmental wellbeing. This applies to most contracts and exempts deals worth less than £1 million.
