Global HIV funding falls nearly a fifth, threatening a disease resurgence

International resources dropped to $7.3 billion last year, hitting the lowest point in nearly two decades. UNAIDS, the United Nations body fighting AIDS, warned that falling budgets threaten decades of progress against the virus. Several countries in sub-Saharan Africa saw major drops in prevention treatments, leaving the 2030 goal to end the illness off track.
