French student fined S$600 for licking vending machine straw in Singapore

A French student in Singapore received a S$600 fine, approximately $465, because he licked a straw from an orange juice vending machine and then replaced it. Didier Gaspard Owen Maximilien, 19, admitted his culpability for public nuisance, having uploaded a video of the act to Instagram. The vending machine company, iJooz, replaced all 500 straws in the dispenser after the incident.
