Fourth person dies in Pennsylvania measles outbreak that infected hundreds

An 18-year-old in Mifflin County died from acute encephalomyelitis, a severe complication of measles. Pennsylvania has recorded over 600 measles cases this year, mainly in Lancaster County, as vaccine hesitancy rises. Two unvaccinated adults and two infants have died in the state, making it America’s worst outbreak since the 1990s.
