Former Clean Bandit star Neil Amin-Smith joins Treasury as economic adviser

Neil Amin-Smith, a former violinist from the Grammy-winning band Clean Bandit, has been appointed as a senior Special Adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Amin-Smith, 36, previously worked at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and has been with the Treasury since 2019. He holds an MPhil in Economics and was part of Clean Bandit when they had a number one hit with "Rather Be".
