First-time buyers in England will be able to buy a new-build home with just a 2.5% deposit under a £4.7bn scheme confirmed in the Budget. The Your First Home plan offers a government equity loan worth 20% of the price, aiming to help about 70,000 more people buy homes. Applications are expected to open in February, with income limits of £110,000, or £140,000 in London.
