Everton ordered to pay Burnley £35m
This is the largest financial penalty ever imposed on a Premier League club, and it comes after Burnley sued Everton for breaking financial rules. A Premier League independent disciplinary commission ordered Everton to pay Burnley £35m for breaching profit and sustainability rules during the 2021-22 season. Everton, who were "angered" by the decision, are appealing the ruling, which they believe is "fundamentally flawed".
