EU fines Google €890m for favouring its own apps

Google has been penalized €890m by the European Commission for violating the Digital Markets Act through unfairly prioritizing its own services. The fine includes a €460m penalty for favouring its flight and hotel booking services in search results. Google also received a €430m fine for Play Store rules that stopped app developers from showing users cheaper offers outside its marketplace.
