Essex Police deny advising Farage not to attend Clacton count

Nigel Farage, who won the Clacton by-election, did not attend the result declaration, claiming Essex Police advised him against it due to a "credible threat." However, the police force stated they did not advise any candidate not to attend the count. The by-election cost taxpayers about £250,000 and saw a record 34 candidates.
