Ebola cases in DR Congo climb past 3,200

Congolese government figures reported on Monday 27 July show 3,200 Ebola infections and 1,405 deaths, with about 1,000 new cases recorded in the past ten days. Nearly 90 percent of cases are in Ituri province, and the outbreak's Bundibugyo strain has no approved vaccine or treatment. Oxford University dosed volunteers with an experimental vaccine on Friday as health worker strikes disrupt hospitals.
