Dublin's Metrolink airport rail link cost estimate doubles to €17.5 billion

The projected expenditure for Dublin's Metrolink scheme, which will connect the city centre with the airport, has risen by over 100% in a four-year period. The 19.4km link, mostly underground with 16 stations, could now cost up to €17.5 billion. Metrolink aims to start operating by the early 2030s, offering trains every three minutes at peak times.
