Playwright and novelist Bonnie Greer dies aged 77 after illness

Her husband David Hutchins said she died following a brief illness on Wednesday. Born in Chicago in 1948, she moved to Britain in 1986, gained British citizenship in 1997, and received an OBE in 2010 recognising her arts work. The acclaimed cultural commentator also served as chancellor of Kingston University and held board roles at the Royal Opera House.
