John Leeson, the actor who voiced K9, the robot dog in Doctor Who, has died aged 83 after a summer of illness, his son Guy Ducker said. Leeson first gave K9 its clipped voice in 1977 and returned for the modern revival and spin-offs. He also appeared on TV in Dad's Army and Rainbow. Russell T Davies called him a fine actor and true gent.
