Councils get more power to control new vape and betting shops
Local authorities in England will now need to give planning permission for all new vape shops, with rules also tightening the definition of what a vape shop is. Councils across Great Britain will also find it easier to refuse new betting and 24-hour slot machine shops. Prime Minister Andy Burnham said these changes aim to give communities more say over their high streets.
