Congo bans copper and cobalt concentrate exports immediately

The Democratic Republic of Congo has banned exports of copper and cobalt concentrates as part of a push to process more minerals domestically. The ban, signed by three ministers, took effect immediately, though a one-year waiver is possible in strategic situations. Congo is the world's largest cobalt producer and second-largest copper supplier.
