Chinese universities cut Art and creative degrees due to AI growth
Chinese universities are discontinuing traditional courses such as translation, photography, illustration, and fashion design, asserting that AI has diminished their financial worth. This follows a state campaign to direct learners towards industries like chips, robotics, and AI, which authorities see as vital for national prospects. From 2021 to 2025, higher education institutions suspended or terminated 12,200 undergraduate programmes, while introducing approximately 10,200 new ones.
