China's Xi Jinping urges military to increase AI use

Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged the People's Liberation Army to increase its use of artificial intelligence to build an "intelligent military". He told a Politburo meeting on Thursday that the military should strengthen its use of unmanned intelligent technologies and network information systems. The push aims to help the PLA achieve its goal of becoming a world-class force by 2049 and modernising by 2035.
