Child malnutrition reaches critical levels in Afghanistan
Child malnutrition has reached critical levels in a third of Afghanistan's provinces and is projected to deteriorate further due to funding shortfalls. On Tuesday, the UN World Food Program (WFP) reported that 142 health centers ceased operations, leaving over 13,000 children without nutrition treatment. WFP requires an immediate injection of $540 million in the coming six months to sustain its vital food and nutrition programs.
