Chelsea wants Xabi Alonso as new manager

Chelsea needs a new permanent manager, their sixth since the BlueCo takeover, to get the team back on track. The club hopes to confirm Xabi Alonso as head coach next week, with talks progressing well after the FA Cup final. Alonso, 44, is the frontrunner, having won the Bundesliga title in 2024 with Bayer Leverkusen.
