Chancellor Healey delays setting 3% defence spending target date until next year

Chancellor John Healey won't set a date for the UK to hit its 3% GDP defence spending target in his first budget on 28 October. Instead, the Treasury confirmed the focus will be fully funding the existing defence investment plan. A spending review next year will detail how the Nato commitment of 3.5% will be met by 2035.
