Burnham commits £8.4bn to new nuclear submarines

Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced on Thursday that £8.4 billion will be invested in the Dreadnought-class submarine project. The funding will support progress towards getting the new nuclear vessels ready for service and aims to protect Britain for decades. The project is also expected to create 47,000 jobs and apprenticeships across the UK.
