BMW to cut 8,000 German jobs by 2027

BMW plans to offer voluntary redundancy to about 40,000 German staff in desk-based roles starting in October. The intention behind this action is to cut approximately 8,000 jobs from the workforce before 2028. German carmakers are cutting costs due to lower electric car profits, US tariffs, and strong Chinese competition.
