Bill Ackman sure UMG investors will back $64 billion deal
The proposed $64 billion purchase of Universal Music Group will only go ahead with support from its board and two-thirds of shareholders. Pershing Square's Bill Ackman revealed his first call about the non-binding bid was to the Bolloré Group, UMG's biggest shareholder. Bolloré controls 28% of UMG, and Ackman reported their response as 'music to my ears,' finding them 'intrigued.'
