Disney to Hire Most of Bankrupt Character.AI's Staff

Disney has agreed to offer jobs to at least 60 employees of chatbot company Character.AI, most of its workforce, after the startup filed for bankruptcy this week. A court filing shows the pay packages are worth around $60m a year, and most staff offered roles have accepted. Disney already agreed to buy some Character.AI assets for $20m, though a rival bidder could still step in.
