Bev Craig wins Greater Manchester mayoral by-election for Labour

Bev Craig has assumed the role of Mayor of Greater Manchester, taking over from Andy Burnham, who is now the Prime Minister. A second round of voting was required for the contest, which saw Craig compete against Sian Astley of Reform UK. Voters went to the polls on Thursday, with a turnout of just over 25%.
