Barclays plans more branches after closure pause
Bank customers could see more in-person services return to high streets. Barclays plans to increase its branch network after stopping earlier shutdowns, with chief executive Vim Maru saying the bank wants both digital and face-to-face support. The lender has cut nearly 80% of its sites in recent years, while around 6,000 UK branches closed between 2015 and 2024.
