Bangladesh ex-PM Hasina demands ban on her party lifted

The former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, called for the ban on her Awami League party to be removed on Wednesday. Hasina, who fled to India in 2024, also reiterated her plan to return to Bangladesh in December. She was sentenced to death in absentia last November for ordering a deadly crackdown on protests.
