Lewis Hamilton lapped Austin in 1m34.893s, the only time under 1m35s in the closing 20 minutes of final practice. Max Verstappen was 0.168s back for Red Bull, while Ferrari team-mate Charles Leclerc took third after track-limit breaches cost him a faster lap. Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli, the championship leader, was fourth, with qualifying due on Saturday afternoon.
