Bahrain says Patriot system caused blast during drone interception

Bahrain has confirmed that a Patriot air defence system was involved in the March 9 explosion over a residential area, clarifying earlier conflicting reports. The system was used to intercept an incoming Iranian drone, but the interception led to debris or impact that injured civilians. Authorities said the action likely prevented a direct strike on populated areas, underscoring the risks of air defence operations in densely inhabited zones.
