The new prime minister visited Dover on Sunday to review Channel operations with the NCA, Britain's organised-crime police. Over 2,000 migrants have arrived since he took office two weeks ago, prompting his push for a totally different approach to border control. More than 14,500 people have made the crossing this year, down roughly 43% from the same point in 2023.
