Andy Burnham wants foreign care workers spared from 15-year settlement waits
Under current rules, overseas staff usually earn the right to stay permanently after five years. Speaking on the BBC, Andy Burnham promised to review proposals that would force lower-paid health staff to wait up to a decade and a half. During the wide-ranging chat, he also backed tougher conditions for benefit claimants and confirmed his pet dog will never live at Number 10.
