Andy Burnham cuts VAT on domestic electricity bills

Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated that household electricity bills will be exempt from VAT for a half-year period beginning in October. Scrapping the digital ID project will fund this measure, projected to cut roughly £45 annually from an average family's expenses. Chancellor John Healey stated that the move is designed to provide immediate breathing room for families facing high living costs.
