Air traffic fault cancels 425 UK flights

About 425 flights were cancelled across the UK on Tuesday after a fault in the air traffic control flight processing system, according to Flightradar24. Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham were worst hit, with departures grounded while arrivals kept running. NATS says it has applied a fix and the system is recovering, in the third such failure since 2023, when a similar fault cancelled 1,500 flights.
