Activist Alaa Abd el-Fattah arrives in London

Alaa Abd el-Fattah, the Egyptian-British activist, reached London on Friday, it has been confirmed. Egyptian officials permitted his travel, ending nearly ten years of separation from his family. Abd el-Fattah, aged 44, had been freed from jail in September, following a pardon from President el-Sisi. Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister, stated his return was a significant relief. Abd el-Fattah spent over a decade as a prominent political prisoner in Egypt.
