About 100 mourners gather for the Devon funeral of former MP Ann Widdecombe

The 78-year-old was killed at her Haytor home in July, and a 28-year-old man is now facing a murder charge. Officers used sniffer dogs to check the Buckfast Abbey grounds ahead of Wednesday's 90-minute Catholic service, which was attended by colleagues including shadow chancellor Mel Stride. Reform UK leader Nigel Farage chose not to attend the mass to avoid distracting from the tributes.
