Southampton AI finds new breast cancer patterns to help treatment

Researchers at the University of Southampton developed an AI tool called CenSegNet that uncovers previously unseen patterns within breast cancers. The technology analysed over 330,000 cells from 127 patients, finding two types of changes involving centrosomes, cell organising centres. CenSegNet might assist medical professionals in pinpointing high-risk individuals and creating more tailored treatments going forward.
