874,000 people in Lebanon face acute food crisis as war grinds on
The World Food Programme said 874,000 people in Lebanon were already facing acute food insecurity before the latest Israeli escalation, and conditions have worsened sharply since. Despite the dangers, the WFP said it continues to send humanitarian convoys to villages in southern Lebanon near the Israeli border that have been subject to heavy bombardment. The agency has provided emergency food assistance to over 440,000 people since fighting began on 2 March.
