More than 80 people were hurt, 50 of them seriously, and about 544 passengers were on the two trains. Adif, Spain's rail infrastructure operator, said a Renfe train hit the back of a private Iryo train on Wednesday morning near Toledo. Regional spokeswoman Esther Padilla said the cause isn't known and the toll will surely rise.
