On Tuesday, Finland's President Alexander Stubb and Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere contacted Putin, a move Ulf Kristersson of Sweden stated was made without informing other European leaders. Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed the view that Europe ought to remain united instead of acting independently. The Kremlin signalled no softening, saying lasting peace needs Russia's interests fully taken into account.
