People often alter plans and act carefully on Friday the 13th, a date many associate with misfortune. This concern stems from origins like the betrayal by a 13th guest at the Last Supper, and King Philip IV ordered Knights Templar arrested on October 13, 1307. Some traditions suggest avoiding actions such as opening umbrellas inside or breaking mirrors, believed to attract bad luck.
