Why are grass fires a problem?

Even a small grass fire, like the one near Heathrow's runway, can pose a significant risk. The smoke can reduce visibility for pilots, and if the fire spreads, it could damage airport infrastructure or even affect aircraft. The dry conditions often found near runways, especially in summer, make them susceptible to ignition.
