Who pays for sick leave?

Currently, employers pay Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) for up to 28 weeks. After that, individuals might claim benefits like PIP or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA). Reform UK's proposal would extend employer responsibility for sick pay to two years, requiring businesses to take out insurance to cover these costs.
